Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
